Developer: Twelve APP
- US App Store rating18+
- Google Play ratingMature 17+
A discovery and chat app for meeting new people. Yubo is now adult-only: its current FAQ and support require users to be 18 or older. Parents who remember an app for younger teens should not rely on that older description.

The essentials
Age, contact, spending
Minimum age
18+ under Yubo’s current official requirements. It is not an eligible app for an under-18 teen.
Age check
Yubo says every joining user completes live-selfie age estimation, with additional identity checks where needed.
Who can contact teens
Discovery and new-person chats are central to the experience. Adults can meet strangers; age verification is not a guarantee of good intentions.
Disappearing content
Do not assume chat, photos or live material cannot be saved. Other people can capture content regardless of a feature’s intended duration.
Public content
A profile is shown for discovery. Yubo describes location-hiding and contact controls; review exactly what is visible before sharing.
Spending
The iOS listing offers Power Pack subscriptions and YuBucks purchases. These pay for platform features, not a guaranteed friendship; read renewal and cancellation details.

How to set them up
Check the adult-only rule and privacy tools
For under-18s, do not sign up or bypass age estimation. Eligible adults should use the in-app privacy, blocking and reporting tools described in the FAQ, including location visibility. Device restrictions can reinforce the boundary for minors.

Privacy
What gets shared
The official FAQ describes age-estimation data, privacy settings and a Hide My City option. An adult-only label does not eliminate identity or location risks.
Safety
What parents should know
- Yubo’s current support explicitly sets an 18-year minimum.
- The company describes mandatory age checks and moderation. Treat these as safeguards, not a reason to send personal information or arrange an unsafe meeting.
Safeguards described here are reported by the company in its own materials (see Yubo: official safety, eligibility or parent guidance (opens in new tab)). They are not independent safety guarantees, and Lowkey has not tested them.
