iPhone’s new ghosting button
Updated

Do you track your teen’s location on their iPhone? On September 14, Apple released iOS 27, the newest version of the iPhone’s software, and teens are more excited than normal for this update, for one very specific reason most parents have no clue about.
Tucked in this new release is a feature that lets them hide their location. (video demonstration) Poof. Your map says “No Location Found” for your teen, just like it would if they lost signal. But they didn’t lose signal. They’re ghosting you, until 4 AM the next day when it turns back on by default. Worst of all, you don’t get any notification they’re ghosting you.
It’s pretty obvious nobody at Apple has a teenager, or this would have been killed in the first meeting.
